“Your last letter was very plain”

Grandmother Coolidge to Calvin: February 28, 1886.

Grandmother Coolidge updates her grandson on the severe winter weather in Plymouth. She also notes that both she and Abbie miss Calvin greatly but reassures him that going away for school was still the right decision. In addition, she notes the plainness of Coolidge’s previous letter, saying that he could be a better writer with greater effort and more practice.
