“Help President and Mrs. Coolidge help the deaf”

Donation pamphlet for the Clarke School for the Deaf: Undated

In the waning days of Coolidge’s presidency, friends and colleagues raised money for a post-presidential legacy project in Coolidge’s name. Coolidge insisted that this money be directed to raise money for the Clarke School for the Deaf, where Grace had taught before marrying Calvin. This pamphlet details the previous accomplishments of the Clarke School and lists its prominent supporters. By the time the Coolidges left Washington, the school’s endowment fundraising drive had met its $2 million goal.
